Mazze is a comic reader for iOS. It has no backend, no accounts and no analytics. This page describes what that means in practice. The summary above is not marketing shorthand — every line of it is restated below.
What Mazze collects
Nothing.
There is no Mazze server for your data to be sent to. The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifier, no device fingerprinting and no third-party tracking of any kind.
Where your data lives
Everything Mazze knows stays on your device.

Server passwords are held in the iOS Keychain and are sent only to the server they belong to, over that server's own connection, to authenticate you.
Network connections
Mazze connects only to comic servers you add yourself — for example a Komga, Kavita or OPDS server on your home network or one you host. It contacts no other host for any purpose.
Mazze does not connect to the internet at all until you add a server.
Because self-hosted comic servers commonly run over plain HTTP on a local network, Mazze permits unencrypted connections to local and private addresses. Connections to public internet addresses require HTTPS.
Permissions
- Local network. Required by iOS to reach a server on your own network. Mazze contacts only the addresses you enter.
- Notifications. Optional, and requested only at the moment you switch on new release alerts or the weekly reading summary. Notifications are generated on your device; nothing is sent to a push server.
Data sharing
Mazze shares no data with anyone, because it collects none. Nothing is sold, rented, brokered or disclosed to third parties.
Backups
You can export a backup of your reading data as a file. Where that file goes — Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, anywhere else — is entirely your choice, and Mazze has no visibility into it.
Children
Mazze collects no data from anyone, including children. It displays only the comics you supply from your own library or server.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
