Mazze reads comics from a server you run yourself — Komga, Kavita, or any OPDS 1.2 catalogue — from a folder it watches on your NAS or cloud drive, and from files you import through the Files app. It is a native iOS app for iPhone and iPad.

There is no Mazze account, no analytics, no advertising and no Mazze backend. Optional iCloud sync uses Apple CloudKit, and in-app purchases use Apple StoreKit. Your servers and file providers handle the libraries you connect.

Mazze Complete

Reading is free, and stays free — every format, every server, every watched folder, the Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, iCloud sync and local backups. No limits and no trial. Mazze Complete is a one-time purchase that adds the parts which work while you are not looking:

Automatic downloads — keep the next few issues of a series ready offline, with a choice of how many to keep and when to remove completed automatic downloads. Background timing depends on iOS and server availability; manual downloads and imports are preserved.
Reading Insights — where your reading time goes, what you finished, goals you set yourself, and a weekly summary.
Custom shelves — shelves that fill themselves from rules you write. The five built-in ones are free.

FAQ

Do I need a server?

No. Import comics straight from the Files app and read them entirely on device. A server is for keeping a large library in one place and reading it from anywhere.

Which servers work?

Komga, Kavita, Codex, Ubooquity, Calibre-Web, and generic OPDS 1.2 catalogues. Where a server supports page streaming, Mazze reads without downloading the whole file first. Komga and Kavita also take your reading position back, so finishing an issue here marks it finished there.

Can Mazze read a folder on my NAS or Google Drive?

Yes. Pick the folder once in the Files app — including anything reached through Connect to Server, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or iCloud Drive — and Mazze imports new issues from it when you refresh. It never moves, renames or deletes anything in a folder you point it at.

What does Mazze Complete add?

Automatic downloads, Reading Insights and custom shelves. Every other part of the app — reading, all formats, every server, watched folders, downloads, the widgets, iCloud sync and backup — is free and has no trial.

Why can Mazze not see my server?

It depends on where the server is.

On your own network: the device is on a different network (mobile data rather than Wi-Fi is the usual one), iOS has not granted local network access (Settings → Mazze → Local Network), or the address is missing its port.

Over the internet: the phone is online but has no route to the server — if you reach it through a private network, that connection has to be up too. Or the address is plain http://, which iOS permits only for local and private addresses; a public one has to be https://. Or the server sits behind a reverse proxy on a path (https://host/komga) and the path was left off.

Mazze tells the two apart — your connection being down versus that server being unreachable — because they have different fixes. Being told your NAS is broken while you are sitting on a train sends you to look at the wrong thing.

Does it sync my comic files?

No. Optional iCloud sync carries reading data and settings. Connect the same library or import the same files on each device separately. Enable sync in Settings → Backup & Sync. Turning it off stops syncing on that device and does not delete existing iCloud data.

Which EPUB files work?

Fixed-layout comic EPUBs. Reflowable prose ebooks are not supported.

Does Mazze come with any comics?

No. Mazze is a reader. It displays files you already have, from your own library or your own server. It does not host, sell, index or help you find comics.
